it twas a good week in the life of elder ross. so we were able to go on exchanges this week with both the spanish and the portugese elders. it is always a fun time to see how different it can be in different areas of the mission especially when they are speaking a different language. its fun so pretty much i am fluent in spanish and portugese. kinda sorta.....
today was really cool so it is our p day and this morning all the elders in the zone met up at one apartment and we all had a zone breakfast together and then we had personal study and then as all the elders in the zone we had a companionship study together and we had a really good powerful discussion. it was so cool. it was great to see elders that maybe wouldnt normally say things to get out and speak up and really say something that would bring the spirit really strongly into the room. we talked about pride and how we can eliminate pride in our lives and we also talked about how great the gospel is and why we are all here. it was so cool. the spirit was so strong and i got so many things. the topic of how fast the mission goes by was brought up and one elder said that it was a good thing it is going by fast. because when you are having fun time is always going to fly by way fast. he compared it to when you were a kid at like an amusment park the time always felt like a couple minutes becuase it was so fun and you never wanted it to end. then it hit me at least that i am having fun and it is flying by way fast and i need to use every second of it even more so. i can always do better. the entire thing was a really cool experience and way powerful and everyone got into it the zone needed it and i needed it.
this week are transfers and elder aubrey and i are staying together but its a sad one there are a lot of people leaving the zone and its so sad. i dont like transfers there are always sad goodbyes.
so me and my companion pulled a huge "prank" and it was intended for the zone but then ended up spreading mission wide. it was crazy. pretty much we told them i got transferred to this crazy place and everyone thought i was gone and then for like three days i had to hide from everyone so they thought i was gone. i felt like i was in the witness protection program. it ws funny though. and then this morning at the zone breakfast is how we told everyone it was a joke everyone was sitting around eating and then i walked in the dooor as if nothing happened and everyone was freaking out. they hate us now. haha jk they were mad that we tricked them but they were laughing because they new it was a good one. it was fun. i understand its probably not funny for yall but it was so much fun and hilarious as it all rolled out.
i got to go to a baptism for the spanish branch on saturday. great experience. i didnt understand much....i mean i am fluent so i understood it all... but anyway it was cool because no matter what language we speak the spirit will always be present when you talk about truth and although i couldnt understand much of what was being said i could definalty feel the spirit and thats what truly matters. it was way cool to be able to not recogfnize the verbal language but the language of the spirit is so much more important and i hope to be more familiar with it as time goes on.
i love yall. so darn much. GO STEELERS! i know you all are representing that black and yellow for me.
Love Elder Ross
